#HackEmail is in 2 weeks! Things are really starting to come together!
We have a kickass team of hackers already signed up for the event… if you haven’t already added in your name, hurry! Notman has limited space, although we’re going to do the best we can to host as many devs as possible. We are getting really excited to see what you’ll create! There’s been lots of building going on with our API lately, so here are some cool updates, as well as more news on the upcoming hackathon!
Hack Day At AOL
Bruno is currently in the Bay Area and over the weekend, he took part in the Web Mining Hack Day at AOL. He got a few devs hacking on Context.IO and even started building a really cool prototype app that displays all photos in your inbox. We’ll be featuring it soon, so stay tuned!
Open API Economy Meetup July 7th in SF – Context.IO will be there!
I’ll be arriving in San Francisco on July 3rd, and on the 7th, I’ll be doing a quick demo of Context.IO at the Open API Economy Meetup at the MuleSoft offices. This month’s meetup is focused on “The Real Time Web and Streaming APIs”, and with some of the features coming on v 2.0 of our API (to be released shortly), the timing couldn’t be better to present what we’re working on! If you’re in SF, we’d love to see you there!
We’ve got some pretty sweet prizes lined up for winners of the #hackemail event! Here they are:
- 1st place – Brand spankin’ new iPad 2 (that rhymes on purpose) and a mountain of t-shirts and swag
- 2nd place – Custom package with Context.IO and Cakemail (free year of services, etc – specs of free package will be customized based on your needs), and a mountain of t-shirts and swag
- 3rd place – a mountain of t-shirts and swag
Our judges include Jeff Bonforte, CEO of Xobni, Vincent Lamanna, Director of Products of CakeMail, and our own Bruno Morency, founder of Context.IO. I don’t know why you’re waiting to sign up. I really don’t.
#HackEmail Now Open to Offsite Hackers!
We’ve decided to open up our email hacking event to any devs that aren’t able to be physically present at Notman in Montreal on the 13th. The rules and judging will be a little different to keep things fair, and we’ll have a separate prize (TBA soon) for the best offsite app. You’ll need send us a short preso to include during the presentation hour by 3 PM the day of the event. To register, select the “Offsite Hacker” ticket from our eventbrite registration page.
Want to Hack AND be Famous?
Finally, we are thrilled to announce that award-winning filmmaker Ondi Timoner will be covering the #hackemail event as part of her new documentary “<3 Startups”. Read all the cool details of Ondi’s participation in Startup Fest here. So not only will you be able to build a kickass app, you may become famous along the way!
