Summer is just about here! The temperatures are rising and Montreal’s unofficial kick-off to the summer season, the Grand Prix, takes place this weekend. This means one thing – we’re about to head into the best time of year in this city – festival season! We’ll have the typical players to keep us entertained this year – the Jazz Festival and the Just for Laughs Festival – but a new player has burst onto the (startup) scene this year: the International Startup Festival! The Startup Festival is a two-day conference on the business of startups. It brings together industry veterans and fresh faces, thought leaders and technology giants from around the world, for a series of lean, fast-paced events.
HACK YOUR EMAIL!
We’re excited to announce that, along with the awesome CakeMail, we’ll be hosting a hackathon all day on Wednesday, July 13th, before the Startup Fest launch party that evening! We’ll have a host of email APIs to play with – participating companies already include Xobni and Litmus (along with Context.IO and CakeMail, of course!), and more will be announced shortly.

The event will kick off with breakfast and a keynote from Jeff Bonforte, CEO of Xobni. Presentations from the other participating APIs will then follow, and then the hacking will begin! Presos will wrap up the afternoon and judging will take us into the early evening. Winners will be announced at the Startup Fest launch party that evening.
