We are EXCITED today! You may have noticed our shiny new website, including beefed up documentation and featured applications. We’ve officially removed the beta label, Context.IO 2.0 is now ready for production applications! Yup, 2.0 has been in private beta since late July then public beta since October, but we decided to keep it quiet until we’d worked out every last kink and gotten all of our amazing features up to speed. Some of you have been working with it since we went into private beta and we’ve gotten a ton of great feedback from you about new features, speed and response times. Now we’re ready to let the rest of the world in and help power even more applications with the awesome context that email data can provide!
Highlights of Context.IO 2.0
Here’s a breakdown of some of the new features we’re most excited about:
* WebHooks: rule-based notifications pushed to your app (blog post here: http://blog.context.io/2011/08/2-0-feature-focus-webhooks/)
* Easily integrate new IMAP accounts and take the pain out of OAuth with public-facing apps using our “connect_tokens” feature (blog post here: http://blog.context.io/2011/09/2-0-feature-focus-connect-email-accounts/)
* Use our console’s shiny new “Explore” tab to play with all resources and calls prior to heads-down development (blog post and tutorial video here: http://blog.context.io/2011/10/2-0-feature-focus-be-the-marco-polo-of-email-data-with-our-explore-console-tab/)
* Better interactions with email threads
* Treat mailboxes as rich address books
* Filter by and creating folders (or Gmail labels)
* Treat multiple IMAP accounts as one
* Trigger syncs when desired
* Move messages between folders
* Expose complete message headers and flags
* Get the body for multiple messages at once
* RESTful design

Billing is ON (It was only a matter of time)
These awesome improvements also mean we’ve finally turned on billing. Existing users, you have until January 15 to select the premium account you prefer, and new users are now required to enter payment details to upgrade to the Small or Large accounts. Free accounts will, of course, always remain available for development and testing without any payment information required.
All of our pricing information can be found here: http://context.io/pricing
Existing users have been emailed with more details on how to upgrade, but as a refresher for all:
To upgrade, login to your console at: http://console.context.io/#settings/billing, and follow the instructions to enter your payment information.
We hope you’ve noticed some of the testimonials we’ve featured throughout the new site. We’ll be doing deep dive features on some of our most interesting users in the new year. If you want to be featured, reach out to sarah-jane at context.io. We’d love to spread the email data cheer far and wide!
Have any questions about our new changes or pricing structure? Please don’t hesitate to reach out at support at context.io or visit our UserVoice support site at http://support.context.io and we’ll be happy to help.
