Here we go, Montreal!
We’ve decided to publicly announce our first set of clues for the Startup Festival Scavenger Hunt! You can stil participate, but please note you need to be a registered attendee at Startup Festival and you need to register on our Eventbrite page (just to give us an idea of how many teams/people to expect). Without further ado…
Our challenges are all about getting photographic evidence of the answers to the clues we’ve provided. Here are the first 7 clues, but if you’re feeling particularly adventurous and competitive, unlock 7 more with our API challenge (instructions below). Once you’ve collected as many pics as you can, be sure to get to the opening cocktail on Wednesday evening by 6:30 (at the latest) and find Sarah-Jane or Bruno from Context.IO to tally up your points (we’ll be the ones in the Context.IO t-shirts eagerly awaiting your arrival)! For every 10 minutes after 6:30 that go unchecked, your team loses 5 points. So wrap up as fast as you can and get to Alexandra Pier in the Old Port!
Here are your 7 starter clues, worth a total of 80 points:
1- Find the electric buttocks. Have a beer. Take a pic. - 5 points
2 – This commie doctor is kind of a hero in these parts. Make sure you grab his statue a coffee from Timmy’s across the street, snap his pic and say hi to the pigeons. - 10 points
3 – Ask any native Montrealer… when returning from travel by train, what is the one sign that reminds them they are home? Stop and smell it. Five times. Then take a pic. - 10 points
4 - Where can your find Mahler, Berlioz, Brahms and Honegger under one roof? Snap a pic. - 10 points
5 – This mug can be found at the former home of Localmind and current home of ContextIO. On it is the logo of a VERY exclusive conference organized by @acroll. Some call it summer camp for geeks. Snap a pic of yourself consuming a tasty beverage from it. - 15 points
6 – A piece of Berlin history in Montreal - 15 points
7 – Suspend this guy and get a vintage riot. Find his statue and take a pic.- 15 points

Here’s what you’ve got to do:
1 – Register for a Context.IO API key at: http://context.io/#signup
2 – Find your oAuth consumer key at https://console.context.io/#settings/keys
3 – Text your Context.IO OAuth consumer key to these numbers, provided by Twilio:

A couple of tips/resources for out of towners:
Solve your clues before venturing out. Map them. The internet is your friend, but you probably know that already.

You could probably do the whole hunt on foot, but expect to be on foot for a few hours. What better way to see the city though!
