Due to an issue out of our control, we’ve temporarily disabled the addition of new iCloud accounts. This includes all @mac.com, @icloud.com, and @me.com users.
Last week we saw a spike in iCloud accounts going into permanent failure. This occurred because Apple IDs of Context.IO user accounts were being disabled for security reasons. Users were being asked to change their password, but this did not prevent the account from being locked again.
After much research and consultations with both Apple and other partners that connect to iCloud, we discovered the issue was not unique to Context.IO. We’re communicating with the iCloud team and are hopeful a fix will be available shortly. However, until such time, we have temporarily disabled iCloud account sign-ups to prevent the accounts from being locked.
We will post an update as soon as this issue has been permanently resolved and you can add new iCloud users once again. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Please don’t hesitate to contact at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
